Our Story

Hi, weโ€™re Logan and Chandler.

We are husband and wife with backgrounds in engineering who are obsessed with all things health, wellness, and fitness.

In 2018, after years of struggling with chronic health issues and getting no solutions from the conventional medical system, we turned to functional medicine looking for answers.

Functional medicine focuses on addressing the root cause of disease rather than suppressing symptoms with medication.

What we found were root-cause solutions that made a huge impact.

From then on we spent the next seven years researching, experimenting, learning, and working with multiple functional medicine practitioners, trying to find the way to optimal health.

We experimented with different diets, therapies, supplements, lifestyle changes, biohacks, and much more.

These things led to massive improvements in our health and wellbeing.

After making so much progress in our health, we wanted a place to document and share what weโ€™ve learned with the hope of helping other people who are struggling with their health.

Thatโ€™s when we decided to start this blog to share with you news, information, tips and advice on how to improve your health.

We cover health, diets, fitness, biohacking, and much more.

We believe the default human state is one of pure joy, energy, vitality, and drive to explore and create, and any deviation from that state is the result of toxicity due to modern living.

We strive to use scientific research to support our information, but ultimately, some health modalities, although proven effective through clinical experience, just havenโ€™t been studied by the scientific community yet.

This doesnโ€™t mean they donโ€™t work; it just means that there may not be any financial incentive to fund that sort of experiment or perhaps the science just hasnโ€™t had a chance to catch up to what we already know works through clinical experience.

In those cases, we only provide information on things that we have tried ourselves and can attest to its efficacy.

Loganโ€™s Story

I spent most of my life suffering from health issues that made life very challenging, and frankly very miserable.

Starting at age 11 I began experiencing symptoms like extreme brain fog, emotional numbness, inability to feel excitement, trouble focusing, depression, constant mood swings, weird phobias (fear of loud sounds & tall buildings), constant fatigue, zero motivation or drive to accomplish anything, and overall lack of interest in most things.

Over time these symptoms would gradually go away and come back again at varying levels of intensity, but the low levels of motivation and apathy towards life were always present.

Then one a day in 2018, when I was a senior in college, I came across a YouTube video by a functional medicine practitioner named Chris Kresser.

In his video, he was describing a patient of his who had been experiencing very similar symptoms as I was experiencing.

He placed his patient on an elimination diet, eliminating things like gluten, dairy, and ultra processed foods, and his patientโ€™s symptoms were put into complete remission.

An explosion of questions entered my mind.

How could oneโ€™s diet have any effect on oneโ€™s mental health?

Thatโ€™s when I began researching, and what I discovered completely changed my perspective on human health and nutrition.

I learned just how much of an influence our gut health and the foods that we eat have on our mood, cognition, and subjective experience of life.

I quickly ditched ultra-processed foods and began eating a paleo-type diet.

I noticed a difference in my energy and cognition right away.

I then started slowly experimenting with removing certain foods and adding them back in to track symptoms.

I discovered that my body was reacting to a wide range of foods. Foods like dairy and seed oils were causing debilitating brain fog and depressive symptoms that would last up to four days after consumption.

Things like sweet potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, white potatoes, peppers, and brussels sprouts were causing insomnia that left me unable to fall asleep for hours and waking up at 3 am and staying awake for two to three hours before being able to fall asleep again.

This eventually led me to eating exclusively meat, salt, and water for a period of 7 months to really explore the effects of an extreme elimination diet.

Within 3 days on the Carnivore Diet, my insomnia went away, and I was able to fall asleep easily and sleep the entire night without waking up.

My mood also improved. I felt more of a zest for life and drive to accomplish things.

My cognition was better than ever. It felt as though I had consumed some mineral that I had been deficient in, which was a key that unlocked an entirely new level of brain power that I didnโ€™t know existed for me.

In the meantime, I was reading books, listening to podcasts, and reading scientific research daily trying to figure out every single thing I could do to push my health to the next level and figure out what the root cause of my food sensitivities were.

I began working with a functional medicine practitioner to explore the state of my gut health and correct any potential issues there.

Gradually, I noticed my mood and overall wellbeing were improving.

Then in early 2021, I developed histamine intolerance, inability to digest my food, severe bloating and burping after eating, insomnia, panic attacks, extreme fatigue, and worsening mental health.

In a state of panic, I began to research online to try and figure out what was happening to me.

How could this be happening? I have been doing everything right? I eat clean, exercise daily, intermittent fasting, sauna, cold showers, high quality sleep, morning sunlightโ€ฆthe whole nine yards.

I would soon learn that I had developed low stomach acid, most likely due to a fungal infection brought on by mold exposure, and this was causing my food to travel through me undigested, causing my immune system to freak out and release histamine in response.

Low stomach acid meant I wasnโ€™t able to properly digest protein, and it also caused downstream impairments in bile flow and digestive enzyme secretion, which are necessary for digesting fats and various forms of carbohydrates.

Thus, fatigue was the result.

I started taking a high dose of betaine hcl, which immediately resolved most of my symptoms.

I also realized my body was craving more carbs, so I began eating fruit again. Within minutes of eating a handful of blueberries the fatigue and low mood were gone. I had energy again and it felt incredible.

I continued this diet while working with a new functional medicine practitioner to uncover the underlying reasons for my low stomach acid and food sensitivities.

Fast forward to 2025, I am currently eating an animal based, whole foods diet, which basically means the majority of my calories come from meat, organ meats, and eggs while I consume carbohydrates in the form of fruits and some vegetables that I can tolerate.

I discovered that I have mold toxicity from a history of exposure to water-damaged buildings combined with a genetic predisposition that affects around 24% of the population and makes it so the body is unable to effectively eliminate mycotoxins.

I also have general dysbiosis, which is essentially an imbalanced gut microbiome where there are overgrowths of problematic microbes and a deficiency of beneficial microbes, leading to digestive impairment and leaky gut, allowing food particles and toxic bacterial metabolites to leak into my body and causing my immune system to react to it, producing symptoms.

This is likely the root cause of my health issues, and I am currently working with a practitioner to correct it. Itโ€™s a long and slow process for me, however, since my body is extremely reactive to everything, even supplements that I need to take to help with the mold removal.

To sum it up, over the past 7 years of my health journey I have experimented with things like carnivore diets, plant-based diets, ketogenic diets, GAPS diets, saunas, cold plunges, coffee enemas, castor oil packs, peptides, ozone therapy, IV therapy, LENS neurofeedback, nervous system regulation, sunlight therapy, homeopathy, meditation, breathwork, fasting, herbs, binders, and much more.

Iโ€™ve experienced many ups, downs, and setbacks in my health journey so far, but I have learned a lot and am currently experiencing better mental and physical health than Iโ€™ve ever had.

Iโ€™ve discovered just how massive of an influence our gut health and the foods we eat can have on our biochemistry, affecting our mental health, our skin health, our energy levels, and much more.

Iโ€™ve also learned just how broken the food system is in this country. Big Food companies have designed these foods to be cheap and addictive, for sole purpose of increasing profits and maximizing shareholder value. All of this at the expense of our health.

We are the most unhealthy country in the world with around 60% of adults and 30% of children living with at least one chronic disease.

Humans were not meant to eat synthetic foods, spend 90% of our time indoors under artificial lighting, spend large amounts of time sedentary looking at a screen, and avoiding the sun.

I believe there is a better way to live that aligns with how our ancestors used to live that can help us all achieve a new level of health.

I am passionate about learning more ways to take my health to the next level and sharing what Iโ€™ve learned with the hope that it will benefit someone else.

I am a frequent CrossFitter, runner, and weightlifter, and I enjoy hanging out with friends, traveling, reading, learning, and blogging!
